Documentary film Bunkar - The Last of the Varanasi Weavers has bagged the Best Film (Arts and Culture) award at the 66th National Awards announced by the Directorate of Film Festivals on 9th August 2019.
In a press conference, the Jury members announced various awards in the category of Feature and Non Feature Films. The awards this year were delayed due to the General Elections in India in May 2019.
The ceremony was held in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi on 23rd December 2019 and was followed by celebrations and photograph with the President of India on 29th December 2019 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Glimpes of the same are as below:
